Padres looking to deal AGON

According to Gordon Edes of ESPN Boston, the Red Sox and Padres are discussing a deal to send 1B Adrian Gonzalez and his $5.5MM salary to the Red Sox for a package of minor league players. Jed Hoyer, the Padres GM, along with new assistant Josh Byrnes are former Red Sox front office members so they know their system very well. Looks like the talks have officially started for AGON, and the trade market could heat up with the Winter meetings very close.
